Cpl Physicians are currently partnered with a global biotechnology company specialised in targeted cell therapies for cancer. This organisation has a growing presence globally and are seeking a Clinical Development Director to support the Chief Medical Officer with their active and new studies.
The Medical Director will be a key member of the R&D team, providing expertise in product development as well as acting as the Medical Lead for phase I & II oncology trials. As the Medical Director you will continue to build the medical team to support upcoming studies, including a Global Phase III clinical trial. Joining the organisation as a specialist in medical, surgical or radiation oncology, you will ideally have a history of Oncology development in the pharmaceutical / biotechnology industry bringing fresh new ideas to the business.
Responsibilities will include:
• Provide medical oversight of clinical trials to ensure regulatory requirements are understood and followed
• Leadership of a cross functional team in a matrix environment
• Develop and review clinical trial protocols and serve as the Medical Lead for phase I & II clinical trials
• Analyse clinical data, including safety monitoring, collaborating with cross functional teams when required
• Strong outward facing presence participating in interactions with KOLs
• As the Medical expert, identify new product opportunities and portfolio development
• Develop and advance a Clinical Development strategy and plan for their Oncology programs, designing and implementing clinical studies at a global level
• Act as an integral member of the Clinical Development team for early-stage products
Requirements:
• MD, Board Certified in Oncology
• Early phase Clinical Development experience highly desirable
• Working knowledge of FDA & EMA guidelines
• Prior industry experience leading Oncology Clinical Development programs
• Clinical expertise treating patients in the US
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
