Cpl Physicians are currently partnered with a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on Rare Disease Gene Therapy targeting the liver. With operations globally, this organisation has several ongoing studies in Haemophilia a/b as well as Fabry Disease. Their broad pipeline of Gene Therapy programmes allows for the opportunity to develop additional clinical trials in an extremely innovative space.
Currently in the market for a Senior Medical Director Clinical Development Rare Disease, this role needs a hands-on physician with a background treating complex disease areas in order to work closely with the senior leadership team to transform and develop the department. You will be responsible for all aspects of medical activity relating to Clinical Development and will act as the therapeutic expert for both internal and external purposes. This is a unique opportunity to join a global biotechnology company specialized in pioneering medicine for rare complex diseases.
Responsibilities will include:
Act as the therapy area lead for either Haemophilia or Fabry Disease providing internal and external training as required
Identify and engage with thought leaders to provide scientific and medical expertise as well as to understand unmet medical needs and data gaps
Presenting to advisory committees, investigators, and scientific meetings
Accountable for all aspects of Clinical Development activities relating to company assets
Analyse clinical data, including safety monitoring, collaborating with cross functional teams when required
Develop and review clinical trial protocols and serve as the Medical Lead for trial conduct
Provide scientific evidence generation and scientific information exchange with KOLs
Working on multiple projects, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and leading Gene Therapy meetings
Requirements:
MD, DO or equivalent US Medical Degree
Ideally 5 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry through CTA/IND to filing of MAA/BLA and post approval development
Prior Rare Disease / Gene Therapy experience
Broad Clinical Development expertise encompassing both Early & Late phase development
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
